1. Important Disclosures

the blind game is an independent, early-stage matching project operated by Heuristic Search Group LLC. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by any university.

WE DO NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS ON USERS. We do not independently verify a user's identity, criminal history, relationship status, intentions, or age beyond the 18+ confirmation required during signup and the use of a verified .edu email address.

A verified .edu email address helps limit access, but it does not guarantee that a user is currently enrolled, safe, honest, or eligible. Anyone who can access or misuse an email account may still misrepresent themselves.

2. Prohibited Conduct

You may not use the service to do any of the following:

  • Harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate, shame, or harm another person
  • Impersonate someone or use false, misleading, or manipulated profile information
  • Misrepresent your age, identity, university affiliation, relationship status, intentions, or availability
  • Send, request, threaten to share, or distribute sexually explicit, abusive, or non-consensual intimate content
  • Pressure someone to meet privately, move off-platform, share personal contact details, or continue communication
  • Ask for money, gift cards, wire transfers, cryptocurrency, bank details, investments, loans, or emergency funds
  • Dox, scrape, publish, sell, or misuse another user's personal information
  • Exploit, coerce, groom, blackmail, extort, traffic, or abuse any person
  • Use hateful, discriminatory, or demeaning conduct based on protected characteristics
  • Submit knowingly false, misleading, retaliatory, or abusive reports

3. Reporting Safety Issues

If you feel unsafe, use the in-app report function or email [email protected]. Include the user's name, screenshots if available, and a short description of what happened.

Report categories include harassment, inappropriate content, fake profiles, spam, financial scams, threats or violence, sexual misconduct, stalking, non-consensual intimate content, hate or discrimination, underage users, and other safety concerns. High-priority categories require details so that we have enough context to review the report.

For emergencies, imminent threats, sexual assault, stalking, violence, or suspected crimes, contact local law enforcement (911) or campus security first. A report to the blind game is not a substitute for reporting to emergency services, law enforcement, campus security, a university Title IX office, or other authorities.

4. What We May Do After a Report

We may review reports, messages, profile information, account metadata, recent message snapshots attached to reports, and related records to investigate safety issues, enforce our Terms, prevent fraud, or comply with law. We may warn, restrict, remove, suspend, or permanently ban users at our discretion.

We may preserve information and cooperate with lawful requests or investigations when required by law or when we believe disclosure is necessary to prevent imminent harm, fraud, exploitation, or abuse. We cannot guarantee immediate review, specific outcomes, or that every harmful user will be detected.

5. Safer Dating Practices

  • Do not send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, bank information, or private codes to someone you met online.
  • Be cautious if someone quickly asks to leave the platform, refuses to meet by video or in public, or asks for urgent financial help.
  • Do not share your home address, class schedule, workplace, personal phone number, or other identifying information until you are comfortable.
  • Meet first in a public place, use your own transportation, and tell a trusted friend where you are going.
  • Leave or end communication if you feel pressured, unsafe, manipulated, or uncomfortable.
  • Block and report users who violate these rules or make you feel unsafe.

6. Outside Resources

Romance scams can involve fake profiles, pressure to move off-platform, emotional manipulation, and requests for money or financial information. The FTC and FBI publish guidance on recognizing and reporting romance scams.
