the blind game is an independent, early-stage matching project operated by Heuristic Search Group LLC. It is not a university, law enforcement service, background check provider, identity verification provider, or crisis service. We can remove users and cooperate with lawful requests, but we cannot guarantee that another user is safe, honest, eligible, or compatible.
WE DO NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS ON USERS. We also do not independently verify a user's identity, criminal history, relationship status, intentions, or age beyond the eligibility confirmation required during signup and the use of a verified.edu email address.
the blind game is available only to individuals who are 18 years of age or older and can register with an eligible .edu email address from a participating institution. You may not create an account or use the service unless you are at least 18 years old. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
Accounts found to belong to users under 18 may be suspended or terminated, and associated personal information may be deleted, subject to any legal or safety retention obligations.
During signup, you must affirmatively confirm that you are 18 or older, agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Safety Policy, and acknowledge that the blind game does not conduct criminal background checks or independently verify identity, age, current enrollment, relationship status, intentions, or safety.
Access requires a verified .edu email address issued by a participating institution. Use of another person's email, institutional credentials, or any fraudulent email to register is grounds for permanent ban and may constitute identity fraud.
A verified .edu email helps limit access, but it does not prove identity, age, current enrollment, character, criminal history, or safety. You are responsible for using caution when communicating with or meeting anyone through the service.
the blind game is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by any university, college, or educational institution. Any university name or domain referenced is used solely to identify eligible email domains and does not imply any institutional relationship. University trademarks and logos are property of their respective institutions.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these Terms at any time without notice.
One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent bans or game the matching system is prohibited.
You may not create, buy, sell, share, transfer, or operate an account for someone else. You may not use false information, manipulated photos, misleading profile details, or another person's identity.
the blind game uses an algorithm to suggest compatible matches based on survey responses, hobbies, and schedule availability. We do not guarantee any particular match quality, outcome, or number of matches. Survey data is used solely for matching and is not sold to third parties.
All matches and communications are voluntary. You may block or report any user at any time. We reserve the right to remove any match or message that violates these Terms.
A match does not create any obligation to message, meet, date, disclose personal information, or continue contact. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.

Consent and exploitation: Any use of the blind game to facilitate sexual assault, sexual harassment, non-consensual sexual activity, sex trafficking, child exploitation, or other abuse is strictly prohibited and may be reported to law enforcement when legally required or when we believe reporting is necessary to protect safety.
To the extent applicable under 47 U.S.C. § 230 and other applicable law, we are not treated as the publisher or speaker of content created by users. Users are responsible for the content they submit, including messages, profile information, and any other material submitted through the service. We may review, remove, or restrict content that violates these Terms or threatens user safety.
This provision does not limit any responsibility we may have for our own content or conduct, and it does not waive statutory exceptions or rights that cannot legally be waived.
By submitting content to the platform, you grant the blind game a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, store, process, and moderate that content as needed to operate and protect the service.
Your safety matters to us. Read our Safety Policy. If you feel unsafe, use the in-app report function or contact us at [email protected]. For emergencies, always contact local law enforcement (911) or campus security first — we are not a crisis service.
We may review reports, messages, profile information, account metadata, and related records when needed to investigate safety issues, enforce these Terms, prevent fraud, or comply with law. We may warn, restrict, remove, suspend, or permanently ban users at our discretion, including when conduct occurs off-platform but affects user safety or the integrity of the service.
Reports to the blind game do not replace reports to law enforcement, campus security, a university Title IX office, or other authorities. We may preserve information and cooperate with lawful requests or investigations when required by law or when we believe disclosure is necessary to prevent imminent harm, fraud, exploitation, or abuse.
Do not submit knowingly false, misleading, or retaliatory reports. Abuse of the reporting system may result in account restrictions or removal.
We cannot guarantee that all reports will be reviewed immediately, that every harmful user will be detected, or that other users will behave safely. You remain responsible for your own decisions when communicating with or meeting another person.
Your use of the blind game is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using this service, you consent to the data practices described in that policy.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT MATCHES WILL BE COMPATIBLE, SAFE, OR MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS. YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE AND ANY RELIANCE ON MATCHES OR COMMUNICATIONS IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
IN-PERSON MEETINGS WITH MATCHES ARE UNDERTAKEN AT YOUR OWN RISK. ALWAYS MEET IN PUBLIC PLACES, TELL A FRIEND WHERE YOU ARE GOING, AND TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY USER HAS BEEN SCREENED, VERIFIED, OR IS WHO THEY CLAIM TO BE. A VERIFIED.edu EMAIL ADDRESS IS NOT A SAFETY GUARANTEE.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO PERSONAL INJURY, EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, OR HARM RESULTING FROM INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER USERS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED $100.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, fraud, or any rights, remedies, or liabilities that cannot be limited under applicable law.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall first be submitted to informal negotiation by contacting us at [email protected]. If not resolved within 30 days, disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in English, except that either party may bring qualifying claims in small claims court or seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property, confidentiality, safety, or unauthorized-access issues.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you waive any right to a jury trial and agree not to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against the blind game.
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify users of material changes via the email address on file.
